Hi again Geoffrey,
Have just noticed that you were asking about Robert's death.
Which indicates that you possibly haven't yet found what I believe is their burial info at Smailholm.
I found this originally from the RootsWeb Roxburghshire Msge Board but they may well be in the Monumental Transcriptions for Smailholm (published by the Borders Family History Society).

Robert 1832 Elizabeth 1829
I subsequently found that they are included in the Smailholm Deaths for 1832 on Scotlands People, and were a bonus as I was chasing a John on the same page at the time.
John of East Third, died 1832, may well be Robert's son, and possibly married to Jane WADDELL.
