Andrew FAIRBAIRN/Agnes ALLAN

Does anyone know anything about the family of Andrew FAIRBAIRN and Agnes ALLAN/ALLEN/ALLIN of Berwickshire beyond their marriage (1755 Coldstream and Gordon) and the two baptisms (James 1758 Ednam; John 1764 Gordon) that can be found on the OPRs?

The FAIRBAIRN DNA project has come up with an exact match (67/67) between descendants of James FAIRBAIRN and Agnes LINDSAY; and James FAIRBAIRN and Isabel TAIT, and 66/67 between the representatives of these two families and that of John FAIRBAIRN and Jessie JOHNSTON.
(See F-34, F-38 and F-17 halfway down the overall result grid at
http://dnasurnames.info/lineages/dnafairbairnoverallgrid.htm)
Casting around to see how the families may connect I began wondering if one of the links in the chain might be the family of Andrew and Agnes ALLAN.

A James born 1758 in Ednam would be of an age to possibly be the one married to Agnes LINDSAY, assumed parents of the Alexander who married Isabella ATCHISON (1808 Coldstream) - not that I've noticed Andrew used as a family name, or have other evidence at all.

Anyone got any better ideas?
