Update to prior message - merely to point those interested in this family that they now appear on the FAIRBAIRN One Name Study pages showing Andrew as son of James & Margaret (HOG) FAIRBAIRN of Fogo, James being the smith at Whinkerstones there.

Love to find a direct male line descendant of Andrew's to join the FAIRBAIRN Surname dna project
to see if there's any connection to the smiths of Ednam, given that one of their descendants was also at Fogo at least briefly, and Charles is a name used for one of Andrew's children.
Mind you, we also still require a representative for the Ednam smiths as well
