Fairbairns in Larbert & Falkirk came from Bowden & Smailholm

My extensive family of Fairbairns, born to George Fairbairn and Janet Robertson in Larbert and later Falkirk between 1804 and 1822, can now be linked to Fairbairns in the Borders. George was a nailer but apparently started life as a button maker in Galashiels. He was the second son of William Fairbairn (1756-1810), schoolmaster in Bowden then Galashiels, and Margaret Scot. William in turn was the son of John F and Helen Anderson, gardener in Smailholm, and Helen Anderson.
