Valerie, you have an Australian connection. I am related to you through Joseph Fairhall's wife - Elizabeth Jane b. Ashford Kent England 1853. She was the daughter of William King and Caroline Marsh and the younger sister of my G. Grandmother, Emily Elizabeth King b 1847,who married James Symonds and migrated to Australia in 1877 with their first 4 children.
My Mother always told me that we had american cousins. I have only just found this out through looking at an old address book of my Grandmothers. Incidentally, her name was Winifred Emily. I wonder if your Grandmother and mine corresponded much.
The address I had in her address book was "Auntie Lizzie" Mrs. J. Fairhall, Gilbert St. Danville, Illinois U.S.A.
