Hi -- my research into my family has turned up the Fairweather name, and specifically a George Fairweather but I don't know the specific connection. My grandfather is Michael J. Norton who was originally from Ireland and died in Lowell Massachusetts in 1934. His brother, John, who was then living in Brooklyn, died the same week and their obituaries appear on the same page in the Lowell Sun. The obituary for John Norton lists as one of his pallbearers "George Fairweather of Brooklyn, New York" (along with Thomas Norton, his brother, James F Mitchell and William Doyle -- it is not specific whether these names are associated with Lowell or Brooklyn. The cemetery plot where John Norton is buried also lists his wife Mary as being buried there, and the "Responsible person" for the grave is listed as Mrs James Fairweather of Babylon, New York (there is an address, but I don't want to put it in a public forum). I have not been able to find a phone number or email address to go with that name to contact her. Perhaps there is a relationship here. I suspect that the George Fairweather who was the pallbearer is either a very good friend of my great-uncle John Norton, or might be related to him by marriage (ie, maybe George was a brother in law). If there's any match here, please email me.
