Hello Ann -- I'm not sure I have anything of value to offer you, but your report of a son "George" born to the George you are looking for may be a clue. If you are following the forum, you'll see that I'm looking for a George Fairweather from Brooklyn who was a Pallbearer at my Great Uncle's funeral in Lowell Mass in the 1930s. You'll see in my posting the name of a Medeline Fairweather in Babylon, LI who is the "responsible party" in cemetery records in Lowell. Perhaps this individual is related to your George?
