Hello Vivien,

The only Mary Fairweather I have is my 5xg aunt, who was born to George Fairweather & Agnes Langlands in 1796 at Rescobie. I don't know if she married a Meffan, I'm afraid.

Her sister (and my 4xg grandmother), Agnes Fairweather, married Alexander Meffan in 1804. I don't know of a Charles from that family.

Meffans and Fairweathers seem to have intertwined in that area a lot - it can be a nightmare (just search those names onm the IGI and you'll see).
