Hi Again Garen
I looked at the census return sent to you for 1841-it was tabulated when I typed it-but not apparently sent that way!
The numbers refer to ages, the ditto marks to born in the county Yes in every case.

1851 census-
Guthrie (Ref. 292/1/14 and 15)

William Sturrock, head, married, 55 years old, farmer of 30 acres, born in Kirkden, Angus; Martha, wife, married, 50, born in Rescobie, Angus; Isabella, daughter, unmarried, 30, born in Rescobie, Angus; David, son, unmarried, 22, born in Aberlemno parish, Angus; Mary, daughter, unmarried, 18, born in Guthrie, Angus; Elizabeth, daughter, unmarried, 18, born in Guthrie; Ann, daughter, 15 born in Guthrie; Susan, daughter, 12, born in Guthrie; Sofia Sturrock, grandchild, 4, Kirkden.

1861 census, Guthrie (Ref. 291/2/51)
Turin Bents

William Sturrock, head, married, 69,farmer of 64 acres employing one man, Born in Kirkden; martha, wife, married, 69, Rescobie; David, son, unmarried, 31, Aberlemno: Elizabeth, daughter, unmarried, 26, Guthrie; Ann, daughter, 24, unmarried, Guthrie; Susan, daughter, 21, Guthrie; Jessie, grand-daughter, 13, scholar, Kirkden. The sons and daughters are described as farmer's son or daughter-presumably they worked on the farm.

1871 Census, Guthrie (Ref. 291/1/37)
Bents Turin

William Sturrock, head, widower, 79, farmer of 34 acres arable, Kirkden; David, son, unmarried, 36, Aberlemno; Mary, daughter, 36, Guthrie; Elizabeth, daughter, 36, Guthrie; John Greig, servant, farm servant, place of birth unknown.

William Sturrock died on 4 February, 1873 at Bents of Turin, Guthrie, aged 81. Martha Fairweather died on 9 November, 1866 at Bents of Turin, aged 75.

In both cases the informant was their son, David Sturrock.

I'll send further details on the ancestry of William Sturrock tomorrow
