Hello Robert
There may be a connection. My grandfather, David Fairweather, came from Dundee. He was one of a family of about 6 children off a farm near a place called, I think, Monikie. He married Charlotte Blair in 1900. My father, William Blair Fairweather, was born in 1920 in Dundee. Subsequently the family emigrated to New Zealand where my grandfather was a farm labourer. I understand some of my grandfather's brothers emigrated to Queensland in Australia where the Fairweather name is fairly well known (perhaps the artist Ian Fairweather is a relation!).
Anyway, if there is a clue in all this, let me know by return e-mail.
My name is William Duncan Fairweather and I use Duncan for my first name.
regards
Duncan Fairweather
