on the site, George fairweather of Scotland posted on the 11/29/05 that he found information where a Robert Fairweather migrated to Guyana in 1839. On his arrival in Berbice, he wrote a letter to his brother George in Scotland. These two brothers may be the Robert and George on your Family tree. They are from Scotland.
I am from Jamaica and I'm probing my roots also. History records in Jamaica (see freepages genealogy.rootsweb) reveals a Robert Fairweather in the 1840's owning property in several parishes - st mary, st george, st ann and st john. There is a high incidence of Fairweathers in these areas (although some place names have changed)
Is it the same Robert who left Guyana for Jamaica. Did other brothers go to the Caribbean.
