Thanks for interesting information. A comprehensive survey of my Falch family was printed in 1962. (There are at least 4 families with no link to each other). "Falkener-Falck-Falch"
As the family book does not mention more about the emigrants than "gone to America" it is interesting to learn what happened to them and their family there.
The two families mentioned in 1880 US Census Vernon, Dodge are desendants of Frederich Wilhelm Stabel Falch and Thalie Staffeldt at Hovland farm in Larvik.
One more brother went to America - Axel Falch - who settled as a farmer in Rock Dell MN. He married Helga, born 1844 in Norway. They had a daughter in 1880 - Thalie Falch.
Comments to the list of people mentioned by Marilyn Roth, with reference to the family at Hovland in Larvik:
1. Jacob Wilhelm Klingberg Falch, Larvik - SAME FAMILY - Cousin of Frederich Wilhelm.
2. Oscar Falch, Drammen - NOT FAMILY
3. Søren Falch, Drammen - NOT FAMILY
4. Sophie Dorthea Falch, Drammen - NOT FAMILY
5. Johan Falch, Drammen - NOT FAMILY
6. Thomas Bagge Falch, Eker - SAME FAMILY
7. Thelie Falch, Hedrum - SAME FAMILY Frederick Wilhelm's widow
8. Hagbarth Falch, Horten, SAME FAMILY Son of Frederick Wilhelm
9. Diana Falch, Moss - NOT FAMILY
10. Friederich Andersen Falch - NOT FAMILY
The two children mentioned in Marilyn Roth's follow up are children of Frederich Wilhelm and Thalie.
A daughter - Caja Michaeline Falch was married to a priest who served for some years in Wiota. Her letters to her mother in Norway are published in America. The book is named: "The strange American way" by Caja Michaeline Falch.
