If interested in this family, I recommend buying the book "The Strange American Way", available at Only cost me 20 bucks having it sent to Norway. The book has 3 parts.

1) Letters from Caja Michaeline Falch to her family back home in Norway. She gives a entertaining account on how she and husband Johan Storm Munch finds the USA 1855-59

2) Johan Storm Munchs own recollection of the american adventure written in 1903.

3) Peter A. Munch, a chapter that tries to answer some of the questions why being a norwegian minister in/living in Minnesota i 1855 was as difficult as it was. Contains some genealogical facts.

The cover has a "photo" of JS Munch and Caja Falch with their daughter Emilie taken i 1858.

Thank you for the census data.
