Alexander Falconbridge

I have just received new information suggesting that Dr Alexander Falconbridge Bristol may have had brothers Samuel (Canada) and William (Donegal) but born in or around Bristol.

Dr Alexander was a slave ship surgeon and turned abolitionist. He died in Sierra Lone in 1792.

My gr grandfather Alexander Falconbridge possibly was William's son born in Donegal, (his brother William appears to have died aged 20), emigrated to Australia in 1880. He was a ship's pilot/captain and had 6 children born in Donegal, the eldest Alexander and William.

His brother may have been John Kennedy Falconbridge, Canada.

I have been searching for years for a possible connection between these families but of course there is a lot of work to do. Seems like for generations the Falconbridges had a passion for travel!

Anyone interested?
