Parents
James Petrie & Mary Ann Gortie married on 29 November 1827 @ Arbroath
buried Arbroath Abbey (lair 29/39 & 29/38)
It appears from IGI records that their 1st child was born 5 years earlier than their marriage......although I am suspicious this may have been a transcription error by the LDS from the original OPR's to the IGI's.....I would advise that the original OPR copy be checked to verify the dates for sure.

There is another child found in the IGI &burial records who is related to the family
the burial records state her as the daughter ofthe late James Petrie,Occupation- Carter .....
but their daughter Marianne Petrie born 1833 is still alive at the time of this childs birth...and is named very similar !!!
I am suspicious that she may have been the illigitimate child of one of their daughters and therefore was their grandaughter
but I have not investigated this in detail to "prove" it....perhaps you might want to follow it through....
here are details that I have found to date
Maria Ann Petrie baptised 30 March 1851 daughter of Jess Petrie @ Arbroath (source IGI)

I have a James Kydd who was married to Jane Walker. I believe that they may have been married around 1840 at Inverarity.
They had a daughter called MAry Kydd who was born around 1850. She then married Charles Stewart Falconer on 15 Mar 1872 at St Vigeans near Arbroath. .
They had a son James Kydd FAlconer who was born on 20 Nov 1872 and died 1st April 1935

At present i m researching my family history and I am looking for Falconers born in the Angus area.
I have a Charles Stewart Falconer (28 Sep 1924 - ?)who married Anne Smith Ritchie Scott (29 May 1933 - 5 Aug 1987) at Arbroath on 2 Feb 1957.He born in Union Street Arborath, Angus.
Charles S Falconer was son of Charles Stewart Falconer (12 Jul 1902 - 18 Dec 1980) & Ann Salmond Leslie Grieve (13 Jun 1901 - ?) & was born at 22 Glover Street, Arbroath, Angus.
Charles S Falconer (Snr) was the son of James Kydd Falconer (20 NOv 1872 - 1 Apr 1935) and Dianna Olihant Glen (21 Feb 1879 - ?).
James Kydd Falconer was the son of Charles Falconer (17 Dec 1851 - ?) and Mary Kydd (Kidd)(mary born around 1850). He was born at 40 Cargill Street, St Vigeans, by Arbroath.
Charles Falconer was the son of David Falconer and Jane Smith. Sadly i cannot find any dates for these people. All i have is that Jane Smith died before 1872.
If you have come across these people, or think you might know inforamtion then please contact me at
[email protected] stating ancestors in the subject (so it doesnt go into the junk bin). THANKS

THANKS
