Henry Jacobs Falkinburg Sr. was the first white man to settle in the township of Little Egg Harbor, Ocean Co., New Jersey. He arrived prior to 1698 and began trading merchandise with local Indians. Later securing properties known as Osborn and Wills Islands and a number of farmlands. Falkinburg, spoke fluent Lenni Lenape and acted as interpreter between the Indians and settlers.
