Descendants of John A. Fallin, who served in the 23rd Virginia Infantry during the Civil War, may be interested to learn that his rifle-musket will be displayed by the U.S. Park Service when it opens its new Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center in spring 2008. Fallin enlisted in the 23rd Infantry at Brooklyn, VA in 1861 and was in the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. His weapon was recovered following the battle and was donated to the Park Service recently. John Fallin survived the War.

An account of Fallin and his musket's history appeared in the February 2007 issue of The American Rifleman magazine under an article entitled, "A Veteran of Gettysburg."
