Earlier (pre-1700) lands in 50 Acre lots were granted (Given) mostly to the English... AFTER 1700 Any land in Maryland had to be bought or inherited... no more giving away after 1700..
Borderlands (nearest the Indians and virgin forest) were the CHEAPEST lands, far cheaper than the "snug" interior.
With that in mind ..... on page 86 we find...
Fallen [Follen], Redmond son and devisee of Redmond Fallen, deceased:
Dor, Colchester,117, 12 NOV 1735, EI4/459;EI5/25
PG,Lafferty's Lot100, 31 AUG 1741, LGB/304;LGC/201
PG,Marsh Head100, 30 JUN 1741, EI6/350;LGC/193
PG,Walnut Grove195, 31 AUG 1741, EI6/349;LGC/202
I've had this information all this time (over 20 years) but I hadn't quite processed it ... until now.
This is exciting ... because this SHOWS a link between the Redmond Fallen (Fallin, Follen, Fallon etc) of DORCHESTER COUNTY, Maryland ... AND ... Prince Georges County, MD too!
Why this means something to me, I'll explain later as I continue to "build my case".
At this point ... I am now willing to officially state for the record that "My" Redmond Fallin of Pittsylvania Virginia is the SAME Redmond Follen of PG, MD ... the very SON of the Redmond Fallin of Dorchester County, Maryland on the Eastern Shore.
Furthermore, I believe the Dorchester County, MD Redmond Fallin to be our immigrant and probably (highly probable) to have come from County Roscommon, Ireland!
(DNA wise there's no doubt that the Surname is Irish) as if we had any doubt about that!:) Cheers!Slainte!
