Barbara,

I just wanted to run some things by you to see if we are on same page.

Charles Tharp and Susan Weatherford married 18 Feb 1823 in Charlotte County, Virginia. They probably had four daughters prior to Charles' demise (see 1840 Charlotte County Census for Susan Tharp) of whom two from your 5/1/00 post are Sally Tharp Fallen and Elizabeth J. Fallen. Elizabeth Tharp married James E. Fallen 20 Dec 1844. Did Sally Tharp marry William Putnam Fallen? I can't find this marriage anywhere.

The last time I find James E. Fallen is 1900 Halifax County, Va. age 79. I have never found William Putnam in any census records but I have found Sarah Fallen in Charlotte County, Virginia 1880. Is this your ancestor Sally Tharp Fallen?

I realize I am spelling the name Fallen rather than Fallin. I think after Elizabeth Hames Fallin died in 1849 most of the names entered in the Charlotte County marriage records have it Fallen; although census records have it Fallen or Fallin.

Let me know if you agree or have other ideas.

Gordie
