Fort Wayne FALVEYs and KELLYs 1850s-1900s
I have been working on my KELLY line in Fort Wayne, where they emigrated from County Kerry (possibly Lakes of Killarney area) in the mid 1800s.
My own line involves John KELLY who m Johanna FALVEY or FALVY, and had at least two children before leaving the country abt 1868: Catherine, b 1862, and Mary, b 1867. After leaving Ireland, these KELLYs ended up in Fort Wayne, IN, where they had sons Patrick (1869) and John J (1876) and possibly a son who died in infancy in 1874.
I recently found out that their family burial plot was co-owned with the Timothy KELLY family, which included children Kattie, Mary, Andrew, Timothy, Richard, and Dabora. In the 1880 Fort Wayne census, the Timothy KELLY family happened to live next door to Daniel FALVEY (age 27, b Ireland), and I am wondering if this FALVEY is also related to the KELLYs. Daniel's family included his wife, Dabora (age 30), children Mary (8), Kattie (5), John (4), and Julia (3) FALVEY. The Daniel FALVEY family appears to have emigrated from Ireland before Mary was born in 1872.
If these names match anyone's data, and you are working on these lines, I'd be happy to exchange data with you.
