Thank you very much for the information that you've provided. Admittedly, I did not know that the origin of the Faria name is Sephardic. In fact, I didn't know what Sephardic meant, so I went and researched it :-)

I have heard that there were potentially some Arabic origins of the surname, but couldn't find anything to support it. I thought that maybe it was associated with the Arabic (Moore) influence while they inhabited Portugal, especially Lisbon.

What you've provided me sends me in a different route. Are you able to tell me more about what you know and where you found the Sephardic reference to the Faria surname? After your message, I did perform a very quick search and found some very minor references, but if you are able to provide me with more, it will save me some time.
