Allrighty here it goes,

believe it or not, I was just on this subject with my dad about 2 hours ago.
My Name is Roberto Farias. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. My Dad, also Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. Here comes the interesting part.
My grandfather Juan Salvador Farias from San Pedro de las Colonias, Coahuila. He lived there until my great grandfather fled to laredo, TX to avoid execution in the revolution, he was an accountant for Pancho Villa, or something like that. But, and this is true... a great, great uncle of my wife Martha Madero, Francisco I. Madero saw him about to be executed and actually took him from the "paredon" and told him to get his family and himself to a train, and do not get off until you get to Laredo, TX.

Now, according to my Dad there was a "Pirate" in San Pedro de las Colonias who came from portugal in some early years. And he is supposed to be one of the first farias to show up in Mexico. Believe it or not this town, which is still a very small town. Is even older than Torreon.

Now, all of my family comes from Monterrey, Mexico. We are more than 100 starting from my grandfather. But guess were I ended up a year and a half ago. Yeap. Laredo Tx. History repeats itself, only that I wasn't running from anybody, much less the revolution. and more than half my cousins don't even live in Mexico anymore. I have family in different cities of the us. San Antonio, Phoenix, Miami, New York, California, and even some in Switzerland.
Anyways, one thing I believe for sure, this world we live in....is not really that big. know what I mean?

Roberto Farias
