I have a William A. FARISH in my family tree, just located him this week on Genealogy.com in the 1900 Federal Census in Richmond, VA. One of the children's names seem to make sense: William A. FARISH was born in Jun 1878. He married Cora GARRISON [I think she was from her mother's first marriage and her mother's actual first married-name, I'm don't know, but for practical purposes, I use GARRISON, the name of her mother's second husband] in 1900, probably at Richmond, VA. He was a ship outfitter by profession, so he may have moved to CA. Cora was born in Aug 1882. Her mother's name was Lilian H. Wilson (1857-1919). I'll have to check SanFrancisco in th 1920 Federal Census for CA when it becomes available on -line.
