Hi Viola

My g-g-g grandparents were John Brown (b abt 1811 in Thornhill, Morton, Dumfries) and his wife, Jane/Jean Bell (b abt 1815 in Torthorwald, Dumfries). John Brown's parents were Peter Brown and Jean Farish. Jane/Jean Bell's parents were Thomas Bell and Sarah? Farish. Do you have much information on the Dumfriesshire Farish's? I have just learned about this new name in my family tree, and am having much difficulty getting anywhere trying to find out information about them. Any info or hints you could give me would be very much appreciated.
