My gr-gr-grandfather was Thomas Farley, known to be from Co. Cavan.I have not yet traced
any further back but I do know he had a younger brother Andrew. I don't have definate dates for them, but the birth dates of thier children (where known) could put Thomas and Andrew around 1834/1838. Could these be the Thomas and Andrew Farrellys that you are trying to trace ? (Farley was how my gr-grandfather spelt the name when he came to England, but I guess it could just as easily have been Farrelly in Ireland).
This is the information I have on the Farleys so far; I'm just starting out tracing my family, so much of this is from word of mouth rather than any written evidence (but
hopefully this will just provide confirmation). I apologise in advance if this is a bit long winded and rambling !!

Thomas Farley was born in Co. Cavan (place and date not known). He was believed to be employed by a company which shipped cattle to England but I have not been able to confirm this. He married (wife unknown) and had at least 5 children :

There was possibly another brother Charles, whose name appears on James' marriage certificate).

Somewhere between 865-1875, James took his siblings to Liverpool, where they lived with his uncle (Thomas' brother Andrew James). It is not known when Andrew left Co. Cavan for England or why but in 1889 he lived at 16 Sandstone Terrace and his occupation in Gores Directory for that year is given as a butcher.

The 3 sisters were active members of the Cumman Na Mna (sp ??) and were known to have sheltered Eamon de Valera on his escape from Eire. I have some more information on the above 3 if it is of interest to you.
