Karla, I think this is the right track for Charles Wesley Farley.

In the 1930 census he gave his fatherís birth place as Kentucky and his motherís birth place as Indiana.

The Missouri Death Certificates for 1910 - 1960 have two Farleys listed in Scotland County Missouri. They were Daniel and Samuel Farley, apparently brothers for each has listed the name of the father as Harry Farley, b. Kentucky and their mother as Cynthia Green, b. Indiana. Charles Wesley Farley named a son Harry.

Here is the link that can take you to the death certificates:

These death certificates were handwritten, often hard to read and there were sometimes misspelled names.

Harry Farley and his family can be found in 1860 and 1870 Scotland County MO U. S. census records. I have not found the family in 1880. It could be they were missed, or the name is so badly misspelled I cannot find them. I am continuing to look for them in 1880. Unfortunately, there is no 1890 census. Almost all of it was destroyed by fire in Washington D. C. before microfilming was available.

Here is the link to the family search I mentioned:

Look for FamilySearch Website and click there. You can then click on Advance Search and put in a name, or click on the link from a list that says Canada Mexico United States. You can then scroll down to Iowa entries. I put in the name Charles Wesley Farley and found a few marriages and deaths for his children. One thing I like about this link is that it will include a variety spellings and present the names in different ways, e.g. Charles Wesley might show up as C. W. Farley. ( Iím still experiencing problems with this site being slow to load.) You might be asked to register. If so, it is free. You just need to provide a user name, password, and they will probably want an e-mail address.

Do you have access to census records? If not I will send the 1860 and 1870 names for the Harry and Cynthia (Green) Farley.
