From the Chatsworth Plaindealer

JULY 9, 1925

Patrick Henry Farley died at the Pontiac hospital Monday (July 6) night from kidney trouble and the infirmities of age.
Mr. Farley had suffered for some time but his last illness dated from a week previous to his death and on that date he was taken to the hospital.
The body was brought home and the funeral held from SS. Peter & Paul's church Wednesday forenoon at 9 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Fr. Hearn. The burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Deceased was born in Ireland about 78 years ago, in County Meath, and emigrated to America about forty years ago. He was married to Miss Mary Murphy and they came to Chatsworth about thirty-five years ago and continued to make this city their home ever since. Mr. Farley was employed for years on the Illinois Central section gang and was a man esteemed for his integrity and quiet, unassuming ways.
Mr. Farley during the last years of his life, at least, was a familiar figure. He invariably came up town with his basket to do his marketing and the writer always noted when he came to the post office for his mail that he was extremely courteous for any apparent favors done. Some of us forget these little things and it is only due Mr. Farley to record and cherish this good trait he had.
The widow, three daughters and two sons survive. They are Mrs. N.J. Moots, Mrs. Lou Hudson, Miss Jane Farley, Lawrence and Thomas, all of whom are residents of Chatsworth, although Thomas is now a temporary resident of Rantoul where he is employed as a telegraph operator for the Illinois Central.
