Farlow's in the USA

Hi all --

I aave some information for all of you.

Firstly, check out a web page by Jay Michael Farlow. It is WWW.concentric.net/~farlow

Jay has been doing research for a number of years and I think has information for all of you.

Second. If you use Family Tree Maker, there is a large Farlow Tree in one of the World CD-ROMs. If you do not have it I think it is OK if I send you a copy.

Third. I have the family tree of Thomas Farley of 1623. In the Farlow book there is some discussion of who the "first" Farlow was. It was beleived that Thomas was the first and had changed the spelling of his name as happens sometimes through history. This family tree can settle this discussion. I will try to lookup the Farley decendents name if any of you are interested in contacting them. There also seems to be some discussion about a connection to Pocohantus and John Smith. I think that this will need a much closer look to prove or dis-prove this link.

Lastly, From what I have been able to find there are at least 4 different Farlow/Forlow lines in the US That I know of. There is a group that started in the Boston area that is Irish. Ther is a group that Started in Penn. that is German. Ther is a group from Virginia/North Carolina that may be English. My line is Forlow that started in Scotland. My family has very few people in the US as we immigrated during my lifetime.

I hope this helps some of you. If you have any questions, please send e-mails, I check them everyday.

Good Luck
John Forlow
Illinios
