Just read your message today, 7/19/02. i have been to Farlow, England, twice - in 1991 and again in 1995 or 6. It has been separated into two individual hamlets. Upper Farlow is on a high hill overlooking lower Farlow. At one time, they were connected, but the area between has been returned to farm land. We have visited the school in Upper Farlow - a small, very small elementary school. There is also a church, with cemetary, and a few houses - probably 6 or 8.
Lower Farlow has a very small combination post office, pharmacy with no pharmacist, and limited groceries and sundries. There are the remains of a community well a short distance from this combination store, post office, etc. Here, too, there are a very few houses.

The road into Farlow is so narrow, although paved, that shrubbery on both sides of the road scraped our vehicle. Passing is an ordeal - there are cut-outs occasionally along the road, and one of the drivers has to pull into this cut-out in order for the other to pass. Farlow is located in Shropshire, approximately 35-40 miles from Telford, and perhaps ten miles from the border of Wales to the west.

We became acquainted with a Farlow family from Telford and they have visited us twice. We have been to Telford three times. On one of our visits, we spent three weeks traveling with these Farlow friends - all around England and into Wales.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
