Coming thru Ellis Island www.ellisislandrecords.org
ANKERBRAND, ANGEBRANDTs and FARNERs. You might want to take a look at the manifests. Family went to family in those old days and for sure to a place where people spoke same language.
www.genealogienetz.de/reg/ESE/dsinfo.htm might have omitted this site in previous posts.
Some information would be in her Death Certificate, obituary, church baptismal certificate, her SS-5Form http://ssdi.rootsweb.com
No ands, ifs or buts, the research starts with a place of birth in "old country" and of course knowing the religion.
Found FARNER, ANKERBRAND, ANGEBRANDT in Germany.
www.dastelefonbuch.de
ANGEBRAND and FAHRNER in Austria.
www.herold.at
Merely pointing out where the surname is found at present time.
