I do not have any evidence you haven't come across already re: Minerva Farney and her marriage. As you note from the 1850 census, Minerva & her soon-to-be husband, Robert, were near-by neighbors: 1850 United States Federal Census > Kentucky > Carter > District 1, pgs 269B-270A. Robert & his mother & bro Sidney in dwelling# 280 & Minerva with her parents in 289. I've copied an excerpt from another researcher's notes that you may already have. If not, e-mail me directly and I will connect you with that person:

"1. DAVID RADCLIFFE1 FARNEY (John, #2) was born on 2 Feb 1805 at Ross Co., OH. He married Malinda G. Duncan on 28 Feb 1833 at Jackson Co., OH. He married Evelyn Carlin in 1856 at KS. He died in Dec 1875 at Oak Mills, KS, at age 70. He was buried after Dec 1875 at Oak Mills Cem., Oak Mills, KS....
.... In 1839 David was living in Greenup County, Kentucky, and bought land in Jackson County....
.... David and Malinda (Matilda on some documents) settled in Grayson, Carter County, Kentucky. They had eight children. He then deserted his family and went to Kansas where he remarried. David and his second wife had six children....
.... Other children of David and Melinda included Minerva, who married Robert Alexander..."
