Peter...thank you so much for your response to my post. I am just at the very beginning of this business, so I was quite excited to be directed to the Lancashire BMD, where, in answer to your question, I found my Great Grandmother, Alice Ann, married Henry Farnworth in 1901. So it's a beginning..
Thanks again for your help. I suspect I have many more relatives than I currently know of living in Lancashire, and I am hopeful that I will find some of them.
