Farone-Faraone of Alvignano, Casserta

I know there are many Farone-Faraones now in the USA -- a great many of them having come from Alvignano, Province of Casserta, Region of Campania, Italy -- not far from Naples and Mt. Vissuvius.

One Farone was known to have landed at the Port of Philadelphia in the 1870's -- and yet another settled in Oneonta, N. Y. My husband's grandfather, Michael Farone, appearing not to have been a part of either of these families, came to the New Haven, CT area in 1901 and eventually settled in Utica, N. Y. and then Watertown, Jeff. Co., N. Y. We know these were large families of Farones in the Saratoga Springs area of New York State.

If you are a Faraone-Farone and would be willing to submit to me your ancestry as you've been told, I would like to hear from you. I can't help but believe these families are all related and intend to do in-depth research with the LDS microfilm from the Alvignano area. Hopefully, I will come up with a little more than I have now.

I welcome anyone who can help me out.

Thank you,
Shirley Farone
