Looking for info on Capt. Wells A. Farrah, Company C, 87th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. The regiment mustered in York in September 1861. Wells Farrah was a merchant from Wellsville, Pennsylvania, (the town was not named for him) who rose to the captaincy of Company H. Born September 20, 1826, he was killed at the battle of Carter's Woods June 15, 1863. His body was never recovered. He had married widow Jane E. McMullen and had two children.
