Hi:
First I'm the project Admin for the Farrar Farrow DNA project, which includes variations of the name such as Ferrar and Farrer.
I understand your reaction. You apparently believe that there was only one Margaret Lacy and that he married (per your documentation) Brian Farrar.
Fact is that Lacy and Farrer (Farrar) were and are ubiquitous names in West Riding Yorkshire, and very well known throughout those midland counties. Ergo there was more than one Margaret Lacy, just as there were many Henry and John Farrars (certain names, male and female, are within families heridtary institutions and cause much problems for erstwhile researchers.
William Farrar who married Margaret Lacy was the son of Henry Farrar (Ferror) and Agnes (Horsfalls) (her first name is known from his will, her maiden name is inferred from his will and circumstantial evidence). Henry Ferror died in 1549, his will is searchable on the internet, in the will he spells his name Ferror but the name of his sons are spelled Farrer.

There was another Henry Farrer, this one died in 1541/42, he left his boithe (booth) at Saint Bartholemews Fair to his son Brian. To wit: ""To my son Brian my boith within Sancte Bartilmews in London, to be had and holden to the saide Brian and his heres and assignes for ever". Will of Henry Farrer, Clothier, Halifax, 1542.
I find nothing to connect these two Henry's in the family, but assume that they are cousins, both of them descended from the Henry Farrer who built Ewood Manor in 1471.
It was a custom to name the oldest child after the father (for purposes of primogeniture inheritance) and the second son after the grandfather. Thus the plethora of Henry and Johns. Naming traditions in America after the 18th Century changed, and the oldest son was named after the fathers father, second son after the mothers father (but these traditions were not set in stone).
As regards documentation of the marriage of William Farrar to Margaret Lacy, I do no less than refer you to the 1623 Visitation of Surreypage 157 http://archive.org/stream/visitationsofcou43beno#page/156/mode/2uphttp://archive.org/stream/visitationsofcou43beno#page/156/mode/2up, it reads Willm Ferrar of Eywood m Margaret dtr of John Lacyand the 1634 Visitation of Hertfordshire, page 53, it says William Farrar of Ewood, married Margaret daughter of John Lacy

Unfortunately there is no documentation of a marriage between Brian Farrar and Margaret Lacy.
