Michael: The first spelling of the surname Farrester that I have was Farister, then it became Forrester, then Forester, then the current spelling Farrester. I really think that someone got mad at their parents, or they just couldn't spell and misspelled it when it was Farister. My husband's grandfather is the first record that I have of it being Farrester. I really don't know how it was originally spelled, and probably never will. A lot of the times on the census, the census taker couldn't spell correctly or couldn't write where it could be written. I will be working on the Farrester tree beginning in a month or two again, and hopefully will find out a little more. We live in Stuttgart, Arkansas and my husband's gggrandparents came from TN and that is as far back as I have gotten at the current time. As soon as I go back more, I will be contacting you to see if any of the names match.
Thanks for the reply,
Mary Beth Farrester
