Elisha Farris Family - Killed by Indians 1792
Based upon a letter from then Gov. Blount, governor of the territory south of the Ohio River, approximately 119 people were known to have been killed, captured, or wounded by Indians in 1791 & 1792.He sent an undated list to the Secretary of War with all the known persons.
Listed in Washington District casualties were:
Mrs.Faris [sic] Killed
Mrs. LivingstonKilled
her childKilled
[Mr.?] FarisWounded and died
[Nancy?] FarisPrisoner
The raid on Moccosin Gap near Clinch Mt. occurred 8/25/1791.
I am just curious as I am not a Farris researcher, but was Mrs. Livingston related to the Farris family?Reading through the postings regarding Elisha's family, I saw no reference to another child so were does [Nancy?] fit.I did see that Elisha's daughter & grandchild were killed (which makes me wonder about Mrs. Livingston) but nothing else.
Thanks in advance,
Billy
