Ferrers, Ferrars are not Farris.
As a serious researcher I am too often running into claims that Nicholas Ferrer, Sr who married Mary Wodenoth, or Nicholas Ferrers son of Henry Ferrers and Margaret Hextall (Heckstall, Hexstall) was a Henry Farris, or Henry Ferris or father or even son of a Ferris.
All of these claims are spurious, worse they are genealogical crimes, creating great mischief for ernest and erstwhile family researchers who seek facts and not feel good fiction.
There is no evidence to support any claim made, however there is ample documentation to prove that Ferrers or Ferrar or Farrar is not a Farris or Ferris.
The only thing the names have in common is an F and two R's,
But it seems that is sufficient for personalities whose only desire is to link themselves to some famous or ennobled family.
