Joyce,my husband's name is Louis also.I've got loads of information on the Faucheauxs, but it's all in bits and pieces.I'm having trouble putting the families together.I'll start with my husband's.His parents were Louis Faucheaux and Verda Lancon. His paternal grandparents were George and Celina Dugas (They had 8 children).George was the son of Emilien Faucheux and Palmire Kleibert (They had 11 children).Emilien was 1 of 8 children, he was a twin (Emile) Parents were George and Celeste Schexnayder.I beleive George's parents were Louis Francois and Julie Haydel.Louis's parents were Louis Francois and Marie Bossier.
A lot of my information has been taken from census records.I did find find a Pierre Clairfait m. to Marie Eliza Tassin (1853) in the 1860 census of St. John Baptist. They were listed with 12 children. Who were his parents?I see another Pierre, Jr. & Felonise Laurent in the 1850 census with 6 children, the oldest one named Clairfait (19 yrs. old)
I could go on and on, but would run out of space. There are a lot of Faucheauxs/euxs from that area.Just out of curiosity, are there any twins in your husband's family. We've got a lot, his dad's sister had a set of twins.I've got a copy of a tree someone prepared (most of the family are descendants from Emilien and Palmire), but anyway I counted around 13 sets of twins.
If you have any info you can share, please email me. I would love to get this puzzle connected.
