DNA Testing for Genealogy
If anyone is interested, www.familytreedna.com provides testing of the Y chromosome(men only). They have surname projects so that people with a common surname can get a better idea of how closely related they are to others with the same surname. Your results can be transferred to www.ysearch.org where you can search an even larger group of people.
The process will probably cost in excess of $100, but you only need to get one male from your family to test, as there is very little variation between father, son, grandfather... Feel free to email me if you are interested. I did the test and think it is worth it.
