Hi,
I think that your Bernard Faulconer may the the son of John R. Faulconer(Faulkner) listed as living in Richmond in the 1910 Census.
In this census there is a Bernard Faulkner aged 18 years and a Joseph Faulkner aged 22 years. The father's name is John R Faulkner aged 51 years.
I found a WWI Draft record for a Joseph William Faulconer b March 20th, 1888 living in Richmond. I think this is may be the brother of Bernard.
There is also an 1880 Census that has a John R Faulconer aged 21 years living in Green Spring, Louisa, VA. The occupation for this person is the same as the John R Faulkner in the 1910 Census.
If this turns out to be correct, through John R.'s father George W, you should be able to trace back to Thomas Faulconer the immigrant who came over from Sussex, England in 1622.
I have not had a chance to verify any of this info, but it may provide a new lead for you.
Good luck with the research!
Cheers,
Michael Faulconer
