was apparently a well used name in this family. The Col. was certainly a trooper & was held in high esteem in the Piscataway area.
I can give you a great deal of info on him! Amazingly, he was in the Battle of Fredericksburg with your regiment. And yes, I would love to have a picture. My sister has the family Bible, but by the time it came into our possession, many of the picture pages had been torn out!
I just happen to live off the road that took the soliders to the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. We have metal detected a few times and have come up with both Yankee & Conferate bullets. Col. Fouratt must have been in almost every major battle during the war, except Spotsylvania. His obit reads "A Gallant Soldier Gone".
