FAUSEY'S PRE 1800 My grandfather Hiram Walter Fauzey always said the family started in New Amsterdam before it became NYC. He also knew some Fausy's and Fausey's are the same FAUZEY family, and that was in the early 20th Century. Me thinks that the line is Dutch because everyone called my Grandfather, "That old Dutchman." The owner of the Richardson Boat Company in Buffalo NY came to my grandfather's house in the early 1960's and confirmed he had the family traced to Holland in a town South East of Utrecht a town named Fausey or something like that. The town was founded about 750 AD. I never found any records because my mother remarried and the new husband and his sons junked everything in the house without me looking at it. I remember he sold the Company to Cris Craft about 1962 an made a million before retirement. The Boat Company is still in business in Canada under the Richardson name. If anyone has information on this Richardson or any town in Holland named Fausey please let me know. Thanks in advance, Steve Merritt, Cincinnati, Ohio
