They are scattered all over the county
From New England, out West to the sound
In cities, in towns and in hamlets
And out on the farms they are found
Their number is hundreds of thousands
But they all are the heirs of one man,
And no matter wherever you find one,
He belongs to the same Faville clan.
The founder came over from England
In the days before Washington's fame,
And in the deep woods of New Jersey,
He started the forest to tame.
No wonder the tribe are prolific;
The founder, from Betsey to Nan,
Numbered twelve of his flourishing offspring,
As a start for the big Faville clan.
Out into the life of the nation
They have gone to work their own way,
And in every calling that's honest
There are some of them busy today.
And this is their pride and their glory,
That is business that's under a ban,
Never yet has one of their number
Brought shame to the whole Faville clan.
Some stay by the hardy employment
Of the founder and still till the soil.
And some, in the quest for a living
Have found other methods of toil.
Our doctors have made the name famous
Wherever their records you scan;
And our preachers, the noble tiwn brothers,
Are the pride of the great Faville clan.
There's an editor, merchants and miners,
And musicians of very high rank.
(But none of the tribe yet has money
Sufficient to start up a bank).
An architect, great and successful
In his calling, is far in the van.
And we have to admit that one lawyer
Belongs to this same Faville clan.
From the days of the Old Revolution
To this hour, in the face of the Hun,
Their soldiers have followed Old Glory
Wherever fierce fighting was done.
We are proud of their glorious record;
None flatered and none of them ran.
In support of our glorious county
You can count on the whole Faville clan.
The record that's made and now making
Will soon be passed on to our youth.
May that record be made ever better
For honor and virtue and truth.
May the name bear no stain and no tarnish,
May each shape his life to a plan,
That will bring true sucess to his efforts,
And renown to the whole Faville clan.
