Dear Betty, Hi! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. The info that I found is on Rootsweb.com, the WorldConnect Project. I am just a beginner at this stuff, so please bear with me.
Someone else has done a lot of work for us. I found John Faver, Sr. by tracing backward from James Monroe Favor. It lead me to the Hosey Family of Alabama Ancestors. I have no idea how they are related. But, they have listed all of their sources at that web site. I have a new computer at my home, but no printer yet. I am on the net at work, but do not have the time to do much there. So, I've been searching at home, then going to the office, going back to sites, then printing out what I've found. (I've got to get a printer here ASAP)
I'll mail you a copy of what I found, just in case you don't find the same site.
John Sr.'s oldest son was William J. Faver, according to this info. He was born about 1771 in Rayle, Wilkes County, GA, & died 8-20-1841 in Ragland , St Clair County, Alabama (Hosey Family Connection?) He was married twice, and had 9 children. Hartwell J. Favor (spelling changed to Favor) apparently came to South Texas. Hartwell is suppossed to be buried in Old Rock Baptist Church cemetary in Atascosa, County, about 2 miles south of where I live. I've gone out there to look for his grave, but think it must be lost, church records do not show it. But, Hartwell's son, Christopher Columbus Favor, born 11-10-1852 in Texas, married Mahala Wilson. She is buried in Old Rock cemetary, I found her grave. She died 3 years before Hartwell, so he may be next to her.
Sorry this has turned into a book, but I have been really getting into this.

I did find out about the Battle of Kettle Creek. John Sr. was a Revolutionary soldier, and his name is supposed to be on a monument dedicated to that battle in GA.
