Theopolis Faver, son of John Faver and Mary Wells, was born about 1703 or 1704, either in Essex or Richmond Co., VA. The birth date an be determined by John's 1723 will in which he named Theopolis, along with his brother and sister, executors. Theopolis was not able to perform any legal action until 1724, when he reached the age of 21. All 3 of John's children by his first wife (Mary Wells) voluntarily relinquished their executorship to their stepmother, Susanna. Theopolis' wife's name was Esther, maiden name unknown. She must have died before 1760, as she is not mentioned in his will. His known children as listed in his will were Theopolis (Jr); Thomas; Caleb; Rosemund; and Betty (probably
Elizabeth). The 2 girls were minors when he died, as he requested that they be brought up by his son Theopolis (Jr.). Theopolis Sr. also apparently had an illegitimate daughter named Mary, as he left a bequest to her and her mother in his will. Theopolis Jr. died in Essex Co., VA in 1783. Thomas died in Essex Co. in 1786. There was another Theopolis Faver in South Carolina as early as the 1760's (I'll have to check my dates) but I don't know who he was related toŚ if anyone could provide any information on him, I would be so grateful. Would like to swap
information with you on this Faver family.
