Sue Lynn,
I checked and found the following information:
JOEL F. FAVER born 1807 Wilkes Co., GA; died 1870
in Cleveland Co., AR. Parents William A. Faver & Susan Appling. Married Elizabeth Smith 12 Jan 1832 in
St. Clair Co., AL. Children:
S.F. Faver b. 1835
B.C. Faver b. 1840
C.C. Faver b. 1844
J.H. Faver b. 1847

There was a Joel Faver who bought land in AL in 1845,
and a Joel Faver who bought land in AR in 1860, both records per BLM.

There was a Joel C. Faver who served in the Civil War;
he was a private, Co. D, 26th Arkansas Infantry (possibly the son?). One additional note: Susan Appling's father's name was Joel. Of course the accuracy of this information is in question until it can be verified with original records, but at least it might give
clues where to look next. Hope this helps,
