Thanks so much for your response! Unfortunately, John and Mary Morgan are not the parents of this Thomas Bedford Faver. There are two Thomas Favor/Favers born very close to the same time period AND both men married women named Nancy. However, historic documentation proves they are definately two very different men.
The first Thomas Favor was born 12/25/1800 in Rayles, Wilkes Co., GA and died 08/14/1859 Rayles, GA. There is NO evidence of his middle name being Bedford. He apparently was married to a Nancy Henderson Irvin and had issue of Louis, Charles, Martha, Harriett & Thomas - according to the 1850 US Census. Also his last name is spelled FAVOR not FAVER. NSDAR records indicate that this Thomas' father was named John.
The second was Thomas Bedford FAVER not FAVOR. This particular man married Nancy Matilda Forrest. This Thomas was listed as being born in VA when enumerated in the same 1850 US Census as the first Thomas FAVOR. Thomas Bedford Faver had three children: Gabriella, Argalus & Frances Otta. They were living in Dist 1, Tuscaloosa, AL during the census. Bedford has been a continuing name in this line. I do not see the same in the first Thomas' family. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, we have no evidence of who Thomas Bedford's parents were.
Nancy Matilda was the aunt to Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest. Nancy Matilda and the General's father (William) were brother and sister. There is much documentation through family records, history books, a huge lawsuit in Probate Court regarding Thomas Bedford Faver's estate and census records.
I appreciate your response. Guess I will continue looking. Thanks. :)
