Hi Carolyn Yes I have seen the name both ways. And Yes I know of his son. But I've seen the son's name as Joseph Wesley Fawkes, JR. He was known as crazy Fawkes because of his suspended trolley invention that he called "the sparrow". I don't have enough evidence to sway to either middle name. Perhaps someone out there can offer some more evidence. Have you found out any more about John Fawkes, 1689 and wife, Ann? I would dearly like to know if they were immigrants from England and also just what part of England they were from. I have a record of a John Fawkes in Maryland at about the right time. By the way Joseph Walker or Wesley Fawkes and his brothers and sons were very inventive. I have identified over 30 patents naming some member of the Fawkes clan as inventor.
