Hi Gordon:
I am related to the Kent-Fawkes family of BC. My step-mom was a Kent-Fawkes and her father was Jack Vincent Kent-Fawkes (1887-19168). As I understand it Jack was not very talkative about his ancestors although family lore has it that he was descended from the Fawkes family of Farnley Hall, in England (ie. Guy Fawkes). His wife said that he spent his summers as a child in Farnley Hall. They had a number of paintings in their home by a Col. Fawkes, also of the same family. I also suspect that there was a relationship between Jack and the late Lady of Culzain who lived on Saltspring Island many years ago. ..aunt? step mother? cousin? estranged mother?
I too would like to know where the "Kent" part of the name came from.
I would be happy to share information.
How are you related?
